"Its been a long time since I rock and rolled,
Its been a long time since I did the stroll."
Well it's been a long time since last post, although plenty of strolling/running. Not much rockin' & rollin' though. That's more a 70's/80's thing. I don't know, but it just seems easier to update Facebook than the blog. More comments there too.
Still, March saw the start of the West Met season, and already we're up to #4 today: Smithfield (or "Smiffo"). Yes, same car park location as for SMC, but completely different courses. I haven't done this one since 2008, where I managed a blistering 23:38 for the 5k. Today I'm thinking about a pedestrian 25.
Quick summary of West Mets so far (apologies to Facebook followers):
1. Haberfield 4k 19:05; adequate
2. Concord 4k 19:39; PB
3. Rydalmere 4.?k 23.18; one to laugh about
A shame that the front 2/3 of the 4k decided not to turn at the 1k mark as instructed, kept going and finally turned around 2.35k when they worked out they'd gone too far. I was in the last 1/3, but I'm still a sheep.
What else? Well, we've sold our house and bought another, this time in Kellyville. Close to the netball courts, so a nice easy walk to YD's game on Saturday mornings. She's going well: 3 weeks, 2 wins and 20/21 of the goals scored.
We move in about two weeks.
Big news of the week is the shutdown of airspace over Europe due to volcanic ash fallout from Iceland. Second biggest news is how to pronounce the name of the volcano: Eyjafjallajökull.
